Evil bags

A couple walked out of a Wal-Mart and on the way out, one of their shopping bags split open and spilled the contents onto the floor. They sued the store for $60,000 for not bagging the groceries sufficiently.

Dangerous stickers!

A man in Connecticut did his duty as a citizen and voted, and then displayed an “I Voted” sticker on his suede coat. End of story right? Wrong! He claims that the sticker ruined his coat and filed a claim against the city for $106 to cover the cost of the coat.

Superbowl woes

After Janet Jackson “exposed” herself for a few seconds during the Superbowl Halftime Show in 2004, a Tennessee woman filed a lawsuit seeking billions on behalf of everyone “affected” by the incident. Luckily, she later rethought her plan and asked for the suit to be dismissed.

Should have stopped smoking

A woman in Texas left her cigarette burning in the car. Not surprisingly, the car eventually caught fire and injured her child. Blame herself? Of course not. She sued the tobacco company for not designing a cigarette that would stop burning.

A woman in Austin was shopping in a pet store when her dog got off the leash, ran outside, and was quickly run over by a passing car. Q: Who is to blame? The woman? Of course not. A: The pet store!
