There are a million (exactly) reasons gamers could sue video game companies for screwing with and destroying their lives: lack of exercise, meaningful relationships, emotional attachment to something with a soul. But some people have taken task with the new Nintendo Wii because the straps. Apparently, the straps are the reason they don’t have lives.
(From Vnunet.com) — Just as Nintendo goes about replacing the wrist straps on the Wii remote, a US attorney has filed a class action lawsuit against the gaming giant.The legal attack was filed by Green Welling against Nintendo of America for the “defective nature of the Nintendo Wii wrist strap for the Nintendo game console”.
Green Welling filed the nationwide lawsuit on behalf of owners of the Nintendo Wii in the US District Court for the Western District of Washington.
Green said that Nintendo knew about the defective straps but failed to inform consumers and therefore should be held liable to make thousands of gamers rich with money they didn’t earn that they can just blow on more video games until Sega releases a gaming system that they can will accidentally fry a man like a whole chicken.
The lawsuit seeks an injunction against Nintendo that requires them to replace the strips or provide a full refund. Wii players can return their system for a new strap or the $400 equivalent of Mario coins.
Nintendo has also released the following Wii safety tips: ‘Keep a firm grip’ and ‘Make sure people and objects are out of the range of movement before play begins.’ Incidentally, the National S&M Safety Alliance issued the same alert verbatium.

This goes to show you that you can sue pretty much anybody for anything in the United States. Hmm, come to think of it, I’m rather poor myself. I think I’ll sue Rockstar Games for causing my little brother to die in a car accident when someone stole a car, and ran from police.
Sheesh, the sheer stupidity of some people amazes me.

Im amazed that guys just fling thier arms around without holding the damn controller. “This made in Tiawan strap will save my flatscreen” I wonder where stupidity legally removed people from being responsible for thier own decisions.
