Dance ‘Til You Drop and Then Sue

July 25th, 2007 · 6 Comments

Bars are just magnets for dumb lawsuits. People get plastered, do dumb things in them and then sue. It’s the circle, the circle of life.

Take for instance this woman. According to the Chicago Tribune, a woman is suing a local watering hole for damages after tried to get up on the bar and dance, fell off and broke her ankle.

She wants more than $50,000 in damges. Oh man, would that buy a lot of fuzzy nipples, and drinks! Think of the drinks!

She claims she fell off of the bar while trying to climb on it and the bar encourages people to do so without taking any safety precautions. That’s not a bad idea. Bars should hand out helmets as people walk in the door. I can think of a number of occassions when a helmet would have come in handy at a bar. There’s the time I told that woman she looked like Lorenzo Lamas.

Maybe she also thought of “tail dancing” yet fell off the “stage” before conclusion of the set up.
She might have as well thought herself to be a Pole dancer and I’m sure there were some Poles (NOT Pollocks) about that wanted to help her dance other steps.
See the website for other brainiacs.

When are people going to hold themselves responsible for their own mistakes instead of someone else.
