DEATH…OF THE PANTS!

June 27th, 2007 · No Comments

It’s over…so sing along! Goodbye pants, we’ll miss you. So long pants, we hardly knew you. You came into our lives and gave us such hope. But you’ve gone and we feel like a dope. Be well fair pants. We’ll miss you.

WASHINGTON D.C. (CTV.ca) — A U.S. judge, who launched a bizarre lawsuit over a pair of missing pants, has failed to take the defendants to the cleaners for US$54 million.

District of Columbia Superior Court Judge Judith Bartnoff ruled Monday that Washington’s Consumer Protection Act was not violated when the owners of Custom Cleaners failed to meet Roy L. Pearson’s standards.

He lost. Lady Justice is crying herself to sleep and after O.J. already broke her fragile heart.

It gets worse for Pearson. According to the judge’s ruling, “”Plaintiff Roy L. Pearson, Jr. takes nothing from the defendants, and defendants Soo Chung, Jin Nam Chung and Ki Y. Chung are awarded the costs of this action against the plaintiff Roy L. Pearson, Jr.” He also has to provide them a complimentary pair of pants. You can bet they won’t be Brooks Brothers.

The lawyer for the dry cleaners said, “Essentially the Judge chose common sense over irrationality and what we have here today is justice done” and pants. Don’t forget about pants.
