Falling Down Drunk

April 7th, 2006 · 10 Comments

There’s nothing funnier than someone falling down. It happens, but when you’re there to witness it, that only makes it sweeter. It’s like finding a lucky penny on the sidewalk except it’s not a penny but a large lump of a man who wandered out of Bennigan’s and on to the pavement because he kept saying “One more White Russian.” But what happens if you’re a teenager and you seriously injure yourself while doing it? You sue them…and then you laugh.

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) - A teenager who sneaked into a charity bartender contest to drink is suing the restaurant for causing facial injuries she suffered in a drunken fall in the parking lot.

Tyler C. Bauer, 18, of New Market, is seeking $200,000 in damages from TGI Friday’s, according to the lawsuit filed March 22 in Frederick County Circuit Court.

Bauer claims the restaurant was negligent in allowing her to consume beer and liquor purchased for her by an 18-year-old companion and an older man on Oct. 11.

Bauer says the restaurant should be her mommy? Does that mean the manager has the right to come up behind her and give her a good slap on the back of the head like my mom used to when she caught me slipping on some of Grandpa’s Truth Serum?

Bauer and a friend went drinking at the T.G.I. Friday’s when she walked off the bed of a pickup and landed flat on her face shattering her teeth and damaging her lips and gums. I guess that means she can sue Hyundai too for not making their trucks “drunk proof.”

Don’t fret though, the T.G.I. Friday’s was held responsible for serving liquor to minors. They got slapped with a $1,600 fine. But should they be held responsible for Tyler’s injuries as well? Honestly, I’m more worried about how their food is injuring people. The last time I tried to cut a steak that tough, it still had fur on it.

hey if this stupid female was stupid enough to go and
drink under age. than she should be responsible for the
damage she caused to her face when she was drunk.
I am glad the restuarant got fined for serving alcohol to
a minor but they should not have to pay for the girls
injuries because she made the chose to drink then try and
    walk.

Ok. Lets see. SHE snuk into a bar, underage, to drink. I dont believe the bar
should be held responsible for anything. Or any bar, or bartender for that matter.
I do hoeve believe that her parnets shold be slapped for not weatching her and
knowing where she was. As for her teeth. They were her teath. He mouth ordered
the drinks. Her mouth sucked them down. Her feet walked her off the tailgate or
the truck. Her face hit the earth. Welcome to reality darling! YOU get to pay
for your OWN mistake. Learn from it and dont drink till you are old enough and/ or
able to handle your liquor. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOURSELF, and for your own
actions. WE (the rest of the humans on earth) are NOT responsible for YOUR actions.
And shold not, therefore, pay for YOUR mistakes, or your missing teath!!

I do however believe that her parnets should be slapped for not watching her and

Haha, Oh thats funny. I want to laugh at her face. No TGI Fridays is not responcible. Shes the tard who thought she could
handle, what? one beer? Bet she dyed her hair that ugly orange- yellow “blonde” and wears clothes a size too small to let her
not quite toned belly hang out.
That guy who bought her drinks was promised something, you know?
Also… how did the 18 yr old get the alcohal? Interesting indeed.
Ahhhh. I’m just laughing at her face pain.

hey katelynn this is the guy that baught tylers drinks i am underage as of this moment and i am her boyfriend, the fact of the matter is that TGI fridays served me as well as tyler which they should not have done. so my point is to shut the hell up about things that you dont understand and dont know about. Tyler is an amazing young girls that is 18 years old about to turn 19 and doesn’t need to patronized by stupid unthoughful know it all retards llike yourself. you were not there and you do not know what happened at the scene so why dont you step off of youre high horse and stop acting like you have never made a mistake in youre life, and for the rest of everyone that thinks the same way as you do, all i can say is get a goddeamn life and worry about yourself instead of what other people are doing in the world. go ahead and laugh but its probably because you are a hungry fat cow and tyler is a beautiful young woman, dont chalenge her because she couldnt handle her liquer one night, everyone has been there, LIKE I SAID GET OFF YOURE HIGH HORSE AND DO SOMETHING PRODUCTIVE WITH YOURE LIFE!!!.

k sean. first off, u need to fuck off. 2nd, tyler isnt pretty anymore cuz her drunkass crushed her own face. and 3rd. dont blame tgi fridays for doing something wrong when u ASKED them to do it. and 4th, the only reason your sticking up for tyler is because she sucked you off for you to buy her alcohol. get a clue man and dont sue a restauraunt for u guys being drunk ass holes. how bout get a job to get money.

She is one stupid $@%*%!!!! How are you going to sneak in a bar get a older guy to order
drinks for you, who by the way was probably hoping to get lucky, drink till you get shit
faced, walk outside out of the bar and fall and hurt yourself because your too drunk to
keep your balance and then you go and try to sue the bar that you snuck into to begin wit
From my knowledge of TGI Friday’s anyone can go in no matter what the age. You just have
to be 21 to order beer, and since the older guy ordered the beer how was TGI to know that
she was the one drinking it. They are a resteraunt not a babysitter. If anything I
think her stupid ass should be thrown into jail and punished. TGI is not responsible for
her actions. And if any one should have a lawsuit it should be TGI against her for
giving them a bad rep. This just goes to show you how stupid people can be!!

Underage drinking is a crime. Any injuries resulting from the aforementioned crime are the sole responsiblity of the offender. However, over serving any individual is also a crime. The server had to be aware that the underaged girl was inbibing due to the change in her demeanor. A sober person can fake being drunk, but it is much more difficult for a drunk (especially an inexperienced drunk) to feign sobriety.
