Boy, teachers have it pretty rough today what with all the paperwork, and the disrespectful students and the lawsuits…
MARYLAND (Rochester Democrate and Chronicle) — A federal judge has ruled that a Rochester School District teacher — who has been labeled a “serial” litigant by district lawyers — must pay $270,000 in legal fees to the district and the Rochester Teachers Association.
City school teacher Donald Murphy, who has been embroiled with the district in litigation for more than a decade, filed multiple frivolous actions claiming his civil rights were violated, U.S. District Judge David Larimer ruled.
“From its inception, this case was meritless and without foundation,” Larimer wrote in a ruling released late Friday.
The litigation, Larimer said, mushroomed “from a simple employment dispute over one teacher’s interschool transfer, into a gargantuan, broad-based campaign against an entire school system.”
According to attorneys, Mr. Murphy “every injustice, insult, or inconvenience, real or imagined,” into some kind of civll rights violation. He alleged every kind of discrimination you could throw at a human being and then invented a few more just so he could keep his case going. The problem? He’s white. How do you discriminate against a white guy? That’s like sexually assaulting Larry Flynt.
So the judge ordered him to pay $270,000 at $1,500 a month to his school district and the teacher’s association. Murphy said he plans to raise the money he is now ordered to pay by suing the school district.

If this was an African American Female…. What would you say then? There really
is something called Revesal Racial Discrimination. Maybe we could get a few more
facts before saying someone is retarted.

I suppose this give a whole new meaning to the term, “Murphy’s Law”, doesn’t it?

Why is the race card always played? Does it matter that he’s white? Shouldn’t
the more important issue be the number of lawsuits he filed and the merit to his
arguments? If an African-American female filed….let’s say 30 lawsuits over a
period of 10 years, is it still discrimination then? I think the fact that he now
plays to sue the school AGAIN shows his retardation. Reversed racial discriminatiion
does exist, but racism is not the excuse for everything. Sometimes bad people do bad things and have bad things happen to them. It’s called LIFE.
