Some Hot Girl-on-Girl Legal Action

December 14th, 2006 · No Comments

I’ve never seen a group of people get all hot and bothered over two girls kissing. Well, there was that frat party last weekend and the bridesmaids at my best friend’s wedding, and, oh, who can forget that time I accidentally wandered into the lesbian bar thinking it was just ladies’ night.

Two high schoolers are caught kissing on campus.

Ordinarily, such an incident would garner little attention. But for Charlene Nguon, a smattering of kisses and hugs stolen after school and in between classes led to detention, suspensions, a transfer and a lawsuit.

The reason? That’s what a federal judge in Santa Ana will soon decide.

Nguon says it’s because she was kissing a girl. Ben Wolf, who was then principal of Garden Grove’s Santiago High School, says that’s not the case at all. He insists the problem was that, regardless of whether it was a girl or boy, Nguon continued the kissing despite repeated warnings to knock it off.

Now I know my first instinct is to stick up for the girl because it was probably just innocence kicking in and kids will be kids and I’m a guy. It’s in my instinct. If I see two females kissing, I will do one of three things: (a) loot an electronics store for a video camera and post the video on YouTube, (b) find some charcoal and a scrap of paper to document the moment or (c) pay them $49.95 since this counts as pay-per-view.

But as much as it pains me to say it, it’s a dumb lawsuit. I’m sure the district could have punished her if she were caught kissing a boy on campus. I know my school threw the book at me when I did it.
