QUESTION: How do you someone for falling down something they don’t own? ANSWER: You hire an attorney and let him figure it out.

According to Point of Law.com, the NYC Transit Authority got sued for just that. Someone fell down the stairs and they got sued, even though they don’t own them. If you’re head exploded, I hear Windex is the best thing to get your brain splatter off the screen.

A Court of Appeals ruled the NTA could be held liable because they had “a duty to maintain safe means of access and egress to its facilities.” The NTA doesn’t own the stairs because if they did, they wouldn’t possess that perpetual urine smell.

Things like that make me angry, people filing lawsuits just so they can get angry. I’m looking on here for the story about the stupid 0ld woman who drove everyone to move by suing everyone.
