Remember way back when when that old lady spilled a cup of McDonald’s coffee in her lap, almost burned off her first five layers of skin and won all of the money in the world as part of her damages? We’re not good at research here. Well, it’s happened again.
PORT ARTHUR, Tx. (Southeast Texas Record) — Reminiscent of a 1994 case that caught national attention, a Jefferson County woman is suing McDonald’s for failing to warn her that coffee is served hot.
According to Katie Lacey’s lawsuit, filed with the Jefferson County Court at Law No. 1 on April 23, she paid a visit to a Port Arthur McDonald’s on Jan. 15, 2007. Lacey pulled up to the drive-thru window, ordered her breakfast and then spilled her coffee on her lap.
What was the culprit this time? A hole in the cup? General human stupidity? The Hamburglar?
Ney, this time it was the lid. The suit claims the lid was not secured properly causing the “boiling hot” coffee to spill out and scald the poor woman’s lap. For shame, McDonald’s! He’ll never be able to play Santa Claus at the family Christmas get-together ever again.
The suit claims the restaurant failed to secure the lid and warm her the coffee was so hot, even though every cup of McDonald’s coffee now comes with a “Warning: Hot Coffee” warning because of the previous hot coffee lawsuit. Maybe she should be suing her elementary school for failing to teach her how to read.

I’m not sure, I mean, I dropped school and all that…. but isn’t coffee SUPPOSED to be hot? Well, guess not, and I guess it’s perfectly normal to tip your coffee cup, that is fully equipped with a thin plastic top that has holes in it too huh? I swear, with all the geniuses in this country, we might be able to win a spelling bee or two in the next 10 – 12 years.

I couldnt believe when i heard this its ridiculous im sorry but lady you should have known your coffee was hot thats the point ive burnt my tongue before becuase my cappuccino was hot but i didnt sue anyone because its supposed to be hot good god what is this world coming to!!!!!
