I love those suits where convicted criminals accuse the people who caught them of letting them perpetrate their crimes. It’s like blaming the umpire for preventing you from scoring a run for your team. That’s right Lou Pinella, I’m looking at you. Safe my ass.
According to ABC7 News in Denver, an inmate sued a county jail because they forced him to escape from it…twice.
Yeah, shoot, if only they put in silk curtains, hired a private chef and got the Spike Channel, he wouldn’t have wanted to escape so many times.
In his defense, he claims guards repeatedly abused him and alleges employees of the sheriff’s office got his fellow inmates to beat on him. That would explain why the Marlboro corporation gave them a pool table.
The lawsuit claims the jail failed to prevent the inmate from escaping and did nothing to ensure it was secure. Well, that’s not their fault. Super gluing an inmate to the wall is illegal, I’m sure.

…because suing the prison staff for their allegedly abusive behavior isn’t as good of a lawsuit for failing to secure the prison enough to prevent his escape…?

In every jail the underlying theme is them (staff) against us (inmates). Here’s a guy that even the inmates are beating him up! What a born loser… As far as the escape/s an inmate has 24hrs/day to figure a way out while the staff is multitasking. Should an escape happen? Of course not but if you look at the facility as a holding facility all the locks within are just a deterant to slow down the release no matter what kind.
