There is a proof that there is a God in this world. Not just a God, but a just and loving God who looks out for all of us and may not get everything right but does the right things for the right people at the right time.
According to the AP, the man in Spain who sued the family of the boy he hit and killed with his car for damages to his car has dropped his lawsuit.
The news of the original story prompted a huge outrage in Spain. People complained, lobbied and even protested against the man outside of the courthouse. When they heard the suit had been dropped, they cheered because they realized there was a God too.
The family said they plan to seek criminal charges against the man because they realized God is on their side.

I live in Spain, and to answer Veronica. The driver was proven not guilty in court. Apparently he was driving during the night on a poorly illuminated B road, more or less at the speed limit of the road when he struck this teenager who was biking with no kind of reflecting vest or lights on his bike and who actually didn´t stop at a stop sign. Therefore the man had no responsability in the accident, he just had not seen the kid cross the road.
Now one might have the idea that if you have killed a person you might not have the guts try to get your car repaired by the family who lost their son. But what if you do have the guts? After all, the accident was not your fault and your car is damaged. Certainly I can understand that man´s behaviour, Im definitely sick and tired of courts in Spain ruling always in favor of pedestrians or bikers even if they were doing something ilegal like crossing a highway on foot or biking in the opposite direction of the traffic or like in this case not respecting traffic signs or obligatory reflecting vests which are mandatory in Spain for bikers.

The fact is that if someone drives through a red traffic light, hits your car and dies it will be his insurance company paying for damages to your car and certainly for your hospital bill.
Well its the same case here but this guy instead of driving a car, was biking.

By the way I guess this God looks out for all of us except for that teenager.

To David A. He sure does, god is great that way. And I must say you have a valid point about the damages. Still its in fairly bad taste to do what he is doing!
