To David A. He sure does, god is great that way. And I must say you have a valid point about the damages. Still its in fairly bad taste to do what he is doing!

The fact is that if someone drives through a red traffic light, hits your car and dies it will be his insurance company paying for damages to your car and certainly for your hospital bill.

Well its the same case here but this guy instead of driving a car, was biking.

I live in Spain, and to answer Veronica. The driver was proven not guilty in court. Apparently he was driving during the night on a poorly illuminated B road, more or less at the speed limit of the road when he struck this teenager who was biking with no kind of reflecting vest or lights on his bike and who actually didn´t stop at a stop sign. Therefore the man had no responsability in the accident, he just had not seen the kid cross the road.

Now one might have the idea that if you have killed a person you might not have the guts try to get your car repaired by the family who lost their son. But what if you do have the guts? After all, the accident was not your fault and your car is damaged. Certainly I can understand that man´s behaviour, Im definitely sick and tired of courts in Spain ruling always in favor of pedestrians or bikers even if they were doing something ilegal like crossing a highway on foot or biking in the opposite direction of the traffic or like in this case not respecting traffic signs or obligatory reflecting vests which are mandatory in Spain for bikers.
