Sometimes the dumbest lawsuits aren’t the ones that make it to the courts. It’s the steps people have to take to prevent them from happening. To me, those are sadder because they don’t just show dumb humanity has gotte. It shows just how dumb we think humanity has become. I hate to say, but sometimes even I don’t believe in evolution.
How did I get on such an anti-mankind kick today? Blame the Associated Press who told the world about the World’s Wackiest Warning Labels contest.
This year’s winnerr was a front loading washing machine that warns “Do not put any person in this washer.” I can probably guess how that one started. Some frat guy spends the whole night partying and only has 15 minutes to get ready for an 8 a.m. class.
Second place went to a watercraft warning that read, “Never use a lit match or open flame to check fuel level.” That’s a Larry the Cable Guy waiting to happen.

Don’t know about fratboys in dryers, but this:

is a fireman from a station just up the road from me. Made the national press here in Blighty. The guy narrowly escaped getting fired- mainly because the tabloid press got the nation on his side.

Can the washing machine corporation sue the parent for not watching their kid?

The unfortunate part of life is, we need to cover our butts. Take a look at a, take out coffee, caution contents could be hot, Its coffee, you just got it, wake up. At a company where I had been employed, we always had to make things dumb people proof. Now we need to have a lable on our foreheads that says, Caution, I could do something very stupid and brainless. People need to look both ways before crossing the street or should we sue the driver because he did not stop to see us. The world has gone nuts.

“Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.”
