images.jpgWhat’s the worst thing that could happen to an NFL quarterback? Getting sacked by the opposing team? Getting sacked by the opposing team’s coach? Getting sacked by the opposing team’s guy who puts the cheese on the nachos? How about getting sacked by the opposing team’s mascot.

(From LegalReader.com) — Quarterback Adrian McPherson, who was injured during a pre-season game when run over by a golf cart driven by the Tennessee Titans’s raccoon mascot, has sued the NFL team for $20 million in damages. McPherson, 23, was warming up before the start of the second half of an August game between the Titans and the New Orleans Saints, who drafted McPherson in 2005 and signed him to a three-year contract. That’s when T-Rac, the Titans mascot, recklessly ran over McPherson, according to a lawsuit filed Friday in Tennessee Circuit Court.

Poor T-Rac. He was only doing what his defense couldn’t.

McPherson claims the injuries he sustained from the racoon wreck prevented him from playing in the NFL preseason and regular season and he is holding the Titans responsible since they allowed the racoon to operate a motorized vehicle. The Titans are claiming that racoons are often unpredictable and known to strike humans without just case.
