You Can’t Spell “Really Big A-holes” Without RIAA

images-1.jpgRemember when the RIAA (motto: we put the “sick” in music) sued a bunch of music lovers for illegally downloading music turning average Joe Granny into a threat to American freedom? Those were pretty dumb. But now it just got dumber. Some of the victims claiming that the evil RIAA have ruined their lives are going after the bastards ruined their lives — the file sharing services.

CHICAGO (Tinfoilmusic.net) — In Chicago, Illinois, a Kazaa customer has filed a class action against Kazaa, Lewan v. Sharman, U.S.Dist. Ct., N.D. Ill 06-cv-6736.

The lead plaintiff, Catherine Lewan, was a Kazaa customer who was sued by the RIAA for her use of Kazaa, and paid a settlement to the RIAA.

According the Tinfoilmusic blog, the customer claims that Kazaa “deceptively marketed its product as allowing ‘free downloads’” and “designed the software in such a manner as to create a shared files folder and make that folder available to anyone using Kazaa.” She also complains that Kazaa made her cry in her dreams and gave her dog cancer of the tail.

She’s basically claiming that a company offered her the opportunity to download music for free and therefore should be held responsible for her crimes against humanity. I wonder, can she also sue the RIAA for providing her a product that lacks quality?
