Everybody sing along! It’s the most wonderful time of the year, with your all your friends yelling that their lawyers will be telling to sue until you can’t feel your rear, it’s the most wonderful time of the year…
According to a feature story posted at Lawyers.com (motto: we suck the fun out of everything because we care), people who throw Christmas parties this year are liable for more than a nasty hangover and having to explain to the entire office why there’s a print of your butt on the office refrigerator.
The story states that nearly one in four adults do not know that a person hosting a person where alcohol is served can be held legally responsible if a person from their party hurts or kills someone in a drinking and driving related accident. The remaining three people did know that but were too busy throwing up in your house plants to answer the pollster.
The story also states that 29 percent of adults (the story doesn’t specifiy out of what group they are pooling) said they have experienced or witnessed some kind of sexual advancement by a co-worker at an office Christmas party. That number nearly doubled when they pooled people who worked in Mark Foley’s office.
